The Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) program is going strong! We have had 70 dads in, some more than once, to volunteer and act as another set of ears and eyes around the building. Students and staff are extremely happy with the program. So, what is Watch D.O.G.S. anyway? Watch D.O.G.S. is a national program designed to encourage dads and other positive male role models to commit to at least one day to help in their child’s school. We schedule the entire day for the dads with time spent with their own child’s or children’s classrooms, reading with students, helping with math, hanging out in the lunchroom, recess and in the hallways and helping with bus duty. It’s easy and fun, maybe a little tiring.
If you would like to be a part of the program here at Cedarhome, you can contact me via email @

The calendar is up for the rest of the year, so if you have filled out all necessary paperwork and are cleared to volunteer in our district, you can pick a day and email us and we will sign you up for that day or days. If you haven’t filled out paperwork, but would like to volunteer, stop by the Cedarhome office or let us know and we can get the paperwork to you. And please know, we can have more than one Watch D.OG.S dad per day, so sign up for any day that works for you. If you want more information about the National Watch D.O.G.S. program, please click on the link provided. Thanks! Hope to see you here at Cedarhome.
Sincerely,
Jeff Lofgren, Principal
