Calling all Dads (Dads of Great Students)
and / or positive male role models ....
(grandpas, uncles, cousins, friends, etc.)
It's time to "line up and sign up" for our Watch D.O.G.S. program. In leui of our usual Kick-off night, we are diving right into sign-ups. We have had several D.O.G.S. in already which has been fantastic. We hope this year is our biggest year of participation since we started the program. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in the building. Below is some more information regarding the program.
The Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) program is going strong! We have had 70 dads in, some more than once, to volunteer and act as another set of ears and eyes around the building. Students and staff are extremely happy with the program. So, what is Watch D.O.G.S. anyway? Watch D.O.G.S. is a national program designed to encourage dads and other positive male role models to commit to at least one day to help in their child’s school. We schedule the entire day for the dads with time spent with their own child’s or children’s classrooms, reading with students, helping with math, hanging out in the lunchroom, recess and in the hallways and helping with bus duty. It’s easy and fun, maybe a little tiring!
